Lessons It is a fact that horseback riding improves self-confidence, balance and coordination of the rider both on and off the horse. Special consideration is given to improving the biochemical coordination of the rider, which in turn, improves the rider's communication with the horse, aiding in the two working together to have a more enjoyable ride. Through praise and kindness, students learn to be attentive to the horse's movements and attitude.
High Meadow Equine is dedicated to providing a safe learning and riding environment along with quality instruction. We offer instruction for beginner through advanced riders, both children and adult.

Our program includes instruction in all aspects of horsemanship, such as grooming, saddling and bridling, longing, horse care and management. Other activities may include trail rides, horse shows and/or clinics. Previous students of High Meadow Equine Center have gone on to win numerous County and State Fair Grand and Reserve Championships in Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Halter and Showmanship. There are a few rules that must be followed for the sake of safety. Safety equipment, such as riding boots, helmets and long pants are required. All students must read and sign the Iowa Equine Activity Statute. This releases High Meadow Equine Center and any of its associates from any and all liability. Students will be assessed during their first lesson to determine at what level they will start in our program. As students advance, they will receive awards for completion of each level. Levels are Elementary, Intermediate, First Class and Advanced. Lesson books will be provided for each level.
